From a series of collage entitled ‘Wild and Free’, which seeks to draw attention to the abundance of the seashore, and which supports the RSPB.

.As always with this series I collect bits and scraps of sketches and paintings.For the cut-outs I then draw the principal subjects and cut them out.The rest is about finding the colours and textures to make a suitable scrunch of interest for the background.What is a gull thinking about?Why food of course. Crabs, starfish, shells, almost anything – all worth considering.

I love putting colours and textures together and these fit very well with the abundance found on the seashore.
